Well, day 3 has come and gone. Michael is still sleeping the majority of the day. At first we were concerned because he was fussing all day long, now we are concerned because he is sleeping all day long. I guess we should be happy that things have been kind of quite around the house. It is very typical for newborns to sleep on average of 16 hours in one day, so we'll take the fact that he is taking this time to sleep and develop.
He has been up a couple hours in the middle of the night crying. Luckily it is not a screaming cry but it is enough for us to get up and hold him. We are wondering if he may have had a baby nightmare. I wonder what babies dream about that are only 6 days old? Are they dreaming about the big bad boobie that is coming to suffocate them? Seriously, he can't be thinking about anything else!
We go to the doctor today. I can't wait to hear what the Doc has to say. He should be wetting 5-6 diapers a day, and he has blown that figure out of the water. Every time we change him he has a wet diaper so that is great, considering that is how they measure the output of a baby. We have even gone through all the stages of what we call rainbow poop! We are looking for some good news today. I can tell a big difference in his appearance. He is getting chubbier cheeks just like his Papa!
